“Feel Your Feels” is part of Spoken Nights, a series of intimate open mic night events by Ampalaya Monologues. Here, we want to create a space kung saan and mga performers and audience members can feel safe to express themselves and their emotions. Whether through spoken word poetry or music, hangad namin na makapagbigay ng platform for people to explore their feelings and connect with others through shared experiences.

“Feel Your Feels” is a phrase that refers to the act of acknowledging, accepting, and expressing one’s emotions. It’s about being honest with ourselves and allowing ourselves to experience the full range of emotions that come with being human. Marami sa atin ang natutong itago o ‘wag pansinin ang ating mga damdamin, but this can lead to negative consequences such as depression, anxiety, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. In contrast, truly feeling our feelings allows us to process them, understand them, and move on from them. Mahalagang bahagi ito ng ating emotional well-being and mental health. We encourage all performers to share their emotions and experiences through their work, and we invite the audience to open their hearts and minds to the powerful performances that will take place on the night of the event.

“Feel Your Feels” is a liberating and transformative experience, and we hope that this event will provide a space for people to do just that.
